Lee Charlie Hughes' Obituary
Lee “L.C.” Charlie Hughes, 78, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 20, 2015, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charlie Littlejohn and Rev. Dennis Morgan will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Friday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Hughes was born on April 12, 1936 in Carlton, GA. He was the son of the late Parker Harris Hughes and Mary Elise Wilson Hughes. He worked as a loom fixer in Plant #4 of Cannon Mills. He was a member of Skyland Baptist Church. Mr. Hughes loved hanging around with his buddies. He was a member of the Hardee’s/Wendy’s and Lunch Plus Gang. Mr. Hughes was a Godly man who loved his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Christy Hughes; and sister, Betty McCartney.
Mr. Hughes is survived by his two daughters, Kim Trivette and husband, Jeff, of Kannapolis and Sheila Kerr and husband, Alan, of Mooresville; two sisters, Mary Scott and husband, Roy, of Locust and Joyce Walden and husband, Ronnie, of Kannapolis; brother, Wayne Hughes and wife, Sandra, of Davidson; five grandchildren, Dustin Williams, Tyler Burris, Caleb Rodgers, Michael Trivette and Marcie Trivette; and special friend, Melba.
