Lethan Olene Menscer Sasser's Obituary
Mrs. Lethan Olene Menscer Sasser, 98, of 230 Homeland Drive, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Billy Honeycutt will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sasser was born January 21, 1912 in Iredell County. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Homer Menscer and Ottie Lela Millsaps Menscer. She retired from Cannon Mills where she worked in the Sheet Dept. of Plant 1. She was a member of Landis Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Artillis Sasser; sister, Mary Lou Roof; two brothers, Archie and Garland Menscer.
Mrs. Sasser is survived by her daughter, Saleta Goodman and husband, Danny of China Grove; sister, Fannie Lucille Rayson of China Grove and Billie Abernethy of Salisbury; brother, Armond L. Menscer of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Jolene Wagner of Lusby, MD and Melinda Walker of China Grove; four great grandchildren, Lindsey and Sara Wagner, both of Lusby, MD, Joseph Walker of Concord and Matthew Walker of Salisbury; one great-great grandson, Peyton Walker of Concord; and one step-great-great granddaughter, Aidan Greene of Salisbury.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Landis Baptist Church, 110 N. Kimmons Street, Landis, NC 28088.
