Linda Jane Johnson's Obituary
Ms. Johnson, died unexpectedly on August 10, 2010 at her home in Faith. She was born on August 25, 1950 in Cabarrus County. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Junior Johnson, and her mother, Vallie Mae Drake Johnson. She is survived by her sister, Brenda Johnson Dancy; her daughter, Melissa Renee Wilhelm; her grandchildren, Ryan Wilhelm and Krista Poole; and Onyx, her faithful Black Labrador companion.
She was a 1968 Honor Graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis. Early in her career she was a secretary at A.L. Brown High School and later worked for American Airlines. She was a valued administrative assistant at various architectural companies and law firms in Charlotte, Raleigh, New Bern and Oriental, NC. Linda was currently employed in the office of Superior Walls in Salisbury.
She was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Kannapolis and an active participant in her Sunday School Class. Linda enjoyed entertaining her friends and family. She was an avid hunter and a lifelong member of Ducks Unlimited in Pamlico County, NC. She was an accomplished SCUBA diver and eager to share her enjoyment of this sport with many others. She was quick to make friends and enjoyed engaging others in conversation. She was an avid gardener who loved to work in her yard with flowers.
A memorial service for Ms. Johnson will be held in the Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at 5:00 pm. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:45 pm at Lady's Funeral Home.
