Lloyd Cardine Overcash's Obituary
Mr. Lloyd Cardine Overcash, 82, of Oak Pond Place, NW, Concord, died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Overcash will be conducted at First Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2007. Dr. Joseph R. Crawford will officiate. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 27, 2007, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Overcash was born February 7, 1925 in Rowan County, a son of the late Espy Overcash and Mary Lucille Barnhardt Overcash. He served in the Philippines with the US Army during World War II. He retired from Aaron Chevrolet in Salisbury where he worked for many years as an accountant. A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis, he was also a member of the American Legion and was a Mason.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Frieze Overcash.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Parker Overcash, two daughters, Elizabeth "Beth" Overcash McLester and husband Jerry of Concord, Chris Bayne and husband, Mike of Kannapolis; a son Eric Overcash and wife Diane of Lake Norman, two step-sons, Kevin Barker and wife Dianne of Concord and Eric Barker and wife Tammy of Eden, NC, eleven grandchildren, Erica Phillips, Alan Overcash, Melissa Stutts, Kori Dyer, Jonathan McLester, Andrew McLester, Kristin Losh, Patrick Barker, Andrew Barker, Thomas Barker and Tisha Baker, four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Hoyt Overcash of Concord.
