Lois Beatrice Pressley Allman's Obituary
Mrs. Lois Beatrice Pressley Allman, 81, of 810 Mt. Olivet Road, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sonny Waller will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Allman was born August 27, 1928 in Concord. She was a daughter of the late Henry Franklin Pressley and Ethel Mary Craig Pressley. She retired from Concord Telephone Company where she worked as a telephone operator. She was a charter member of Young Memorial, formerly Young Street Baptist Church, in Concord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Faye Cox and Polly Bost; and her two brothers, Henry A. Pressley and R.L. Pressley.
Beatrice loved all dogs and loved to cook. She was a lifelong Baptist and loved to travel to different places including, Mexico, Alaska, Canada, the Caribbean Islands, South America, and Bermuda. She loved to visit one of her nieces in Florida. She loved all of her nieces and her nephew. She gave a lot several times a year to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Mrs. Allman is survived by her husband, James Allman; four nieces and one nephew.
