Lois Lomax's Obituary
Mrs. Lois McCurdy Lomax, 90, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Brookstone Retirement Center in Lexington.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Saturday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lomax was born on June 16, 1924 in Iredell County. She was a daughter of the late James Franklin McCurdy and Grace Shoemaker McCurdy. She worked for Cannon Mills and as a Concord Telephone Company operator.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Vaughn Lomax, Jr.; daughter, Linda Elaine Lomax; three sisters, Kate Holland, Edna Sloan and Mary Patterson; and three brothers, Ike, Tom and Wade McCurdy.
Mrs. Lomax is survived by her son, Dale Lomax and wife, Marcell, of Lexington; and granddaughter, Desirae Vaughn Lawson, of Virginia.
