Lola Jean Turnmire's Obituary
Lola Jean Sharpe Turnmire, 72, formerly of Kannapolis, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, at Avante of Concord.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 29, 2014, at Living Word Spirited Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Rev. Walter Turnmire will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 pm Monday prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Turnmire was born on March 7, 1942 in Ashe County. She was a daughter of the late Walter Sharpe and Beatrice Sharpe. She worked at Cannon Mills. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed doing crafts and making new friends at Avante.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Cameron Wall.
Mrs. Turnmire is survived by three children, Jeff Turnmire and wife Myra, Margaret Turnmire and Patsy Wall and husband Chad, all of Kannapolis; four sisters, Shirley Elvreth of Jefferson, Barbara Hill of Easley, SC, Wilma Blevins and Elaine Rodriguez, both of Crumpler; two brothers, Max and John Sharpe of Lansing; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
