Lucille Dayvault Sloop's Obituary
Mrs. Lucille Dayvault Sloop, age 92, of Glenwood Street, died Friday November 6, 2009 at her home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sloop will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday in Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chuck Halipilias will officiate. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lady's Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. Monday prior to the funeral service.
Born in Cabarrus County on August 30, 1917, she was a daughter of the late A.W. "Dolph" Dayvault and Ruth Cashion Dayvault. Lucille retired from the sewing room of Cannon Mills plant one where she had worked for 44 years. She was a member of Jackson United Methodist Church and through the years she was much appreciated for the various church activities and groups that she participated in, the Gladys Nelson Sunday school class, the United Methodist Women Jet Set and the Gleanor's Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Russell "Rutt" Sloop who died in May 1994, and her son Ted Russ Sloop who died in 1961.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Mullis and her husband Jerry of Kannapolis, a sister Janis Thomas of Kannapolis, two grandsons, Michael Hill and his wife Cristi, David Hill both of Kannapolis and a number of nieces and nephews.
Lucille had a sincere love and devotion to her family and will be remembered for her caring and welcoming spirit and her friendliness to all.
Memorial donations for Lucille may be made to Jackson Park United Methodist Church, 715 Mable Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
