Lucille Reavis Steelman's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Lucille Reavis Steelman, 88, a resident of Morningside Assisted Living Center in Concord, and formerly of Freeze Road in Kannapolis, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003, at the home a granddaughter in Cary, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2003, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Larry Allen will officiate. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Yadkinville, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born October 4, 1915, in Davie County, she was a daughter of the late Roma F. Reavis and Maude Joyner Reavis. She retired after 38 years of service from the sewing room of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis. Mrs. Steelman was a member of West Point Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence T. Steelman; two sons and a grandson.
Survivors include a son, Harvey Steelman of Laurinburg, NC; a daughter, Lu Ann S. Campbell of Cleveland, NC; two sisters, Maxine Hoots of Yadkinville and Helen Hobson of Dobson, NC; a brother, Clarence Reavis of Kannapolis; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
