Mae Hatley Lee's Obituary
Mrs. Cannie Mae Hatley Lee, 86, who made her home with her son, Harold Hatley, in Chesapeake, VA, and formerly of Independence Square, Kannapolis, died at the home of her son, Friday, November 8, 2002.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2002, at First Wesleyan Church. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Dr. Forbis Kivett and Rev. Edwin Chriscoe will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born November 17, 1915, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Channie Hatley and the late Lillie Almond Hatley. Mrs. Lee retired in 1981 from Cannon Mills, Plant One, where she was employed for 41 years. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church. Her husband, Fred Worth Lee, preceded her in death on December 2, 1986.
Survivors include her son, Harold Lee Hatley and his wife, Rosa, of Chesapeake, VA; four sisters, Cora Barnhardt of Kannapolis, Carrie Linker of Mount Pleasant, Elsie Lyles of Rockwell, and Ruby Foster of Concord; a brother, Coy Hatley of Locust; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
