Margaret Elizabeth Bumgarner's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Green Bumgarner, 96, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at her residence.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am today, June 19, 2015, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 am Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bumgarner was born October 10, 1918 in Rowan County. She was the daughter of the late Bertha Jane Green. She retired from the #5 Spinning room of Cannon Mills where she worked as a spinner and a roller picker. She was a member of Westside Church of the Nazarene. Margaret loved cooking for her family and friends. She also loved spending time with her family and having an active roll in the lives of her grandchildren.
Margaret was a woman of great faith and she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Kerlee Bumgarner; son, Alvin Bumgarner; sister, Helen G. Griffin; and brother, Roy “Pete” Green.
Mrs. Bumgarner is survived by her daughter, Shelby Bumgarner of Kannapolis; son, Charles Bumgarner of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Deborah Bumgarner Lys of La Jolla, CA, Jodie Bumgarner Rivers of Valley, AL and Butch Bumgarner of Carolina Beach, NC; nine great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
