Margaret Elizabeth Brinkley Rodgers Mitchell's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Brinkley Mitchell, 95, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mark Clontz will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mitchell was born January 24, 1922 in Cabarrus County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Calvin B. Brinkley and Ruby Miller Brinkley. She worked for Cannon Mills Plant One as a folder. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Shadybrook Baptist Church and was a former member of the Golden Slippers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Clifton Rodgers; second husband, Frank Dwight Mitchell; brother, Marvin Brinkley; daughter in-law, Catherine Rodgers; step-son, James Mitchell; and step-son in-law, Tommy Cox.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by son, Gary Clifton Rodgers and wife Patti of Kannapolis; sister, Lillie Gertrude Brinkley Adcock and husband Owen of Kannapolis; step daughters, Alice Cox of Salisbury and Charlene Delpezo and husband Raymond; three grandchildren, Donna Timco and husband Mike, DeAnn Dial and husband Damon and Michael D. Rodgers and wife Lacinda; six great grandchildren, Jonathan Sechler, Kevin Sechler, Meghan Sechler, Emily Dial, Ale Dial and Gavin Rodgers; and one great-great grandchild.
