Margaret Gilland Turner's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Gilland Turner, 83, of 2219 Lynn Street, Kannapolis, died Friday, July 4, 2003, at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2003, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gene Beaver will officiate. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery on Government Road in Salisbury.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born July 17, 1919, in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late William Ivey Gilland and the late Edna Teaster Gilland. Mrs. Turner retired several years ago from the Number One Spinning Room of Cannon Mills, Plant Four, where she was employed for 50 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Concord. Her husband, Hazel Lee Turner, preceded her in death on April 10, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Blake and her husband, Jim, of Rock Hill, SC, Glenda Turner Weaver and her husband, Ricky, of Kannapolis; a granddaughter, Ashlee Weaver of Kannapolis; two step-grandchildren, Lisa Dunlap and Lori Bigham, both of Rock Hill; and three step-great-grandchildren, Brandon Dunlap, Haley Bigham and Alex Bigham, all of Rock Hill.
