Margie Loretta Garrison's Obituary
Mrs. Margie Loretta Johnson Garrison, 73, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at God's Church of Faith in Kannapolis. Rev. Jeff Upright will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Thursday at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Garrison was born on May 19, 1939 in Ruby, SC. She was the daughter of the late Percy Lee Johnson and Grace Kirkley Johnson. She graduated from A.L. Brown High School in 1957 and attended business college. Mrs. Garrison retired from Celanese in Salisbury.
God blessed Mrs. Garrison with the talent of playing the piano and she shared that gift with many throughout her life. She was a member and pianist for Rodgers Park Baptist Church for thirty years and then became a member at God's Church of Faith where she was a faithful member and pianist. Today she is playing for heaven�s choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a special aunt, Gladys Johnson.
Mrs. Garrison is survived by her daughter, Lisa Cline and Woody Arthur; grandsons she adored, Brandon Barrett of Kannapolis, Bryan Barrett and Malia Valdez both of Concord and Blake Barrett of Salisbury; sister and friend, Judy Johnson Patterson of Kannapolis and brother and friend, Steven L. Johnson of CA which she spent much time with sharing their musical talents together and brother and friend, Olin David Johnson of Kannapolis; special aunt and friend, Maybra Kirkley of Gastonia and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the nursing staff of the Oncology Unit at CMC-NorthEast, Dr. Chris Jones and Dr. Brian North for their care and compassion, thank you to the nursing staff of Hospice of Cabarrus County and to Cindy Lee and LouAnn Dodd for simply being there.
