Marjorie "Rejane" Joyce Goode's Obituary
Marjorie “Rejane” Joyce Goode, 87, of Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in her home.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, February 19, 2022, at First Baptist Church. Dr. Tom Cabaniss will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm Saturday at First Baptist Church.
Rejane was born April 17, 1934 in Stoneville, NC. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Robert Joyce and the late Grace Price Joyce. Rejane completed her college education at Mars Hill, and Appalachian State University and went on to be a teacher at Jackson Park Elementary in Kannapolis. She was a devoted woman of Christ, and very much loved her late husband Eric Norris Goode, and all of her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, mostly eating lunch on Sunday together after church. She was one of the most intelligent women in her family, loved reading, and always had a smart comment to give to you no matter what. Though she didn’t necessarily invite many others over, she loved speaking with the members of her Sunday school class, and managed to find many friends throughout the congregation of First Baptist of Kannapolis, her church. She was a faithful Christian that always made sure to tithe to her beloved church and many other non-profit organizations, including the Cooperative Christian Ministry.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Dunlap; and three brother, Buddy, Joe, and Sanford Joyce.
Those left to lovingly cherish Rejane’s memory are her daughter, Julie Eberle of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christopher, and Meredith Eberle. Also left to her memory are two sisters, Nellie Callaway of Raleigh and Brenda Allen of Greensboro; and a brother, Douglas Joyce of Stoneville.
Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church 101 N. Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
