Marlene Blackwelder Howell's Obituary
Mrs. Marlene Blackwelder Howell, 73, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Friday, December 15, 2017, at Second Baptist Church. Pastor Gary Scoggins will officiate. Interment is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:45 am Friday at Second Baptist Church.
Mrs. Howell was born September 4, 1944 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Walter Calvin Blackwelder and Minnie Adele Blackwelder. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Mrs. Howell was a homemaker and was very involved and supportive in the gospel singing ministry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Howell and Janice Hamilton.
Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband, Gary Edgar Howell; son, J. Darrin Howell and wife, Mary; daughter, Amy Howell Driggers and husband Christopher; five grandchildren, Holly Lanier, Brendon Howell, Kamryn Howell, Aston Driggers and Amelie Driggers; and one great granddaughter, Olivia Lanier.
