Martha Sue Troutman Barnhardt's Obituary
Martha “Sue” Troutman Barnhardt, 83, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 4:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2024, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Snow will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:45 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Sue was born on October 26, 1940, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late William Franklin Troutman and Clara Severt Troutman. She was a member of Community Church of Mt. Pleasant.
Sue was loved by all who knew her and would always greet you with a big ‘ole smile. Spending time with her family was dear to her. Her pride and joy were her grandsons and great grandchildren, along with her little four-legged companion, Cole. She loved to
cook for her family and share her goodies with family and friends. Sue was often seen working at hotdog lunches at her church, Community Church of Mt. Pleasant. Her love for cooking and baking landed her a long career in food service management, working in the university area of Charlotte, for corporations such as IBM, EPRI, and Marriott.
In addition to her parents, Sue was proceeded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald “Tom” Barnhardt, Sr.; two sons, Donald “Donnie” Ray Barnhardt, Jr. and Randy Joe Barnhardt; siblings, Guy Troutman, Donna Murph, Linda Troutman, Frances “Sissy” Simpson, Jack Troutman, Brenda Smith, and Nancy Walter.
Left to treasure her memory are her daughter, Pamela Barnhardt French (Timothy) of Lexington; two grandsons, Thomas (LeeAnn) Barnhardt, and Matthew Barnhardt; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Haleigh, Hannah, Colton, and Finlee Barnhardt; sister, Tamera Benton (Danny); brothers, Charles “Buddy” (Alice) Troutman, and Terry (Gina) Troutman.
