Mary Rodell's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Fidelis Arends Rodell, 90, formerly of Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Tucker Hospice House.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 25, 2014, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church. Father Joseph Dionne, C.Ss.R. will officiate. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 am prior to the service at St. James the Greater Catholic Church.
Mrs. Rodell was born on November 23, 1923 in Chicago, IL. She was a daughter of the late John H. Arends and Cecilia Hochstetter Arends. She was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert George Rodell; son, Philip Rodell; daughter, Pamela Swift; brother, Francis Arends; and sister, Gertrude Moliter.
Mrs. Rodell is survived by seven daughters, Susan Rodell, Donna Newsome and husband Gregory and Karen White and husband Michael, all of NC, Joanne Einsmann and husband Francis of VA, Barbara Gries and husband Michael, Rita Roberts and husband George and Rosemary Tucker and husband Gebhard all of NY; many grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 139 Manor Avenue, SW, Concord, NC 28025.
