Mary Basinger Tucker's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Basinger Tucker, 77, of 807 Alma Avenue, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at CMC-NorthEast.
Funeral services will be conducted at Organ Lutheran Church at noon Friday, April 25, 2008. The Rev. Terrell Long will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon Friday at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Tucker was born in Rowan County on March 19, 1931, a daughter of the late, Marvin "Pony" Basinger and Myrtle Castor Basinger. She retired from the weave room of Cannon Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Clinton Tucker in November 1968 and her life companion of 31 years, Harold Allman, on March 21, 2008. She was also preceded in death by four of her children, Marvinia Gulledge, J.C. Tucker, Jerry Tucker and Randy Tucker; and a sister Genelda Kesler.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Plummer, with whom she made her home; two sons, Rex Tucker and Carl Tucker and wife, Faye, all of Rockwell; five sisters, Judy Stirewalt and husband, Wayne, of Kannapolis, Ann Davis and husband, Jim, of Concord, Betty Kluttz and husband, Leo, of Rockwell, Tona Faye Culp and Linda Davis, both of Faith; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
