Mavie Delanie Scarboro's Obituary
Mrs. Mavie Delanie Nichols Scarboro, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3:30 pm Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Kannapolis Church of God. Rev. Sam Crisp and Rev. Barbara Watkins will officiate. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:15 pm Sunday at Kannapolis Church of God.
Mrs. Scarboro was born November 26, 1929 in Kannapolis. She was a daughter of the late Vance L. Nichols and Bertha Elizabeth Foster Nichols. She retired from Cannon Mills after 52 years of service having worked in the Sheet and Labeling Departments. She was a member of Kannapolis Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen N. Ridenhour, Vencie N. Alexander and Annie N. Jackson; and two brothers, Ralph and Melvin Nichols.
Mrs. Scarboro is survived by her husband of 65 years, Garland F. Scarboro; two daughters Garlene S. Shinn and husband Jeff of Matthews and Kim S. Martin and husband Doug of Mint Hill; two grandchildren, Adam Shinn and wife Keri and Stephen Martin; and two great grandchildren, Delaney and Jax Shinn.
