Melvin Brandon Walters' Obituary
Mr. Melvin Brandon Walters, 81, of 4595 Hilton Lake Road, Kannapolis, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joey Spry and Rev. Jeff Helms will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM Monday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Mr. Walters.
Mr. Walters was born March 1, 1921 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Martin Walters and Minnie Irene Allman Walters. He was a retired service station operator.
Mr. Walters is survived by a daughter, Dolly Hartsell of Kannapolis; son, Melvin D. "Doug" Walters of Salisbury; six sisters, Doris Turner, Alma Lequire, Frances Slough, Lessie Hudson, all of Kannapolis, Pauline Parker of Concord, Jerline Helms of North Ridgeville, OH; two brothers, Clarence and Martin Walters, both of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Teresa Stephens, Johnny Wagner and Mark Harrington; five great grandchildren; and a special fishing buddy, Norris Barringer, and two special four legged friends, AJ and Quale.
