Minnie Helms Miller's Obituary
Mrs. Minnie Asbury Helms Miller, 90, a resident of Transitional Health Care and formerly of Miller Road, died Sunday, December 19, 2004, at NorthEast Medical Center after a number of years of declining health.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at Shadybrook Baptist Church. Dr. Dave Holladay and the Rev. Kenneth McQueen will officiate. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of her son, Albert Miller, 2605 West C St., Kannapolis.
Mrs. Miller was born December 25, 1913, in Union County. She was a daughter of the late Samuel Wilson Helms and the late Anna Lee Helms. Mrs. Miller retired from the sewing room at Cannon Mills Plant 1 and was a member of Shadybrook Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Miller in 1978; a daughter, Delores Robbins Taylor; brothers, Archie Helms, Van Helms, Howard Helms, Boyce Helms, Oscar Helms, Ike Helms and Sammy Helms; and sisters, Beulah Helms Murphy and Hattie Furr.
She is survived by her son, Albert Miller and wife, Joyce, of Kannapolis; daughter, Linda Baker and husband, Gene, of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Richard Baker and wife, Roni, Randall Baker and wife, Kathy, Barry Miller, Jana Ritchie and husband, Joe, and Todd Miller and wife, Regina; six great-grandchildren, Cameron Baker, Trent Baker, Alex Ritchie, Devin Miller, Jackson Ritchie and Miranda Miller.
