Montine Osley Griffin's Obituary
Mrs. Montine Osley Griffin, 88, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, at her home in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, July 30, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joe Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Griffin was born in Madison County, GA on May 20, 1930. She was a daughter of the late Lee Boston Osley and Ina Roberts Osley. She was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church.
Montine came to Kannapolis from Georgia to work in Cannon Mills, where she was employed in the sheet department for over 40 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Griffin Sr. in September 2007; a brother, Bill Osley; and three sisters, Nina Lee Howell, Doris Menscer and Billie Howie Cranford.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by a son, James Walter Griffin Jr.; two grandchildren, Trey Griffin and wife Stacey and Chandler Griffin; and brother and sister in-law, Barry and Judy Bostian; along with numerous nieces and nephews, all who she loved very dearly.
Memorials may be sent to Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 526 Wright Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
