Myrtle Deadmon Potts' Obituary
Mrs. Myrtle Deadmon Potts, 93, a resident of Transitional Health Services and formerly of East 10th Street, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at the nursing center.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2006, at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Herman Absher will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born February 18, 1912, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Marshall G. Deadmon and Bertha Sechler Deadmon. She was a member of Jackson Park Baptist Church and retired several years ago from the Sheet Department of Cannon Mills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Simpson Potts, who died February 6, 1967; her son, Douglas R. Potts; a granddaughter, Teresa Tucker; daughter-in-law, Jackie Potts; and her son-in-law, Ray H. Suther.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Suther of Concord; three sisters, Edith Clawson, Lola Beaver and Mary Ann Hollar; two brothers, Marshall Deadmon and William Deadmon; four grandchildren, Arnold Ray Suther Vickie Lynn Suther, Janet Potts and Douglas Potts; six great-grandchildren, Jennifer Suther, Trai Suther, Danielle Suther, Aaron Potts, Amanda Tucker and Travis Tucker; and three great-great-grandchildren.
