Nathan Eugene Walker's Obituary
Mr. Nathan Eugene Walker, 82, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, November 26, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Richard Rhoades and Dr. Hoke Ritchie will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born July 29, 1924, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Tyrie Walker and Myrtle Fortner Walker. He was employed for 45 years in the No. 2 Weave Room of Cannon Mills. A US Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Walker served with the 158th Combat Engineers. He was a member of Kimball Lutheran Church where he served as the treasurer of the Ridenhour Bible Class.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a loving son, Jerry Eugene Walker; sister, Virginia Barlow; and a brother, William "Bud" Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Tucker Walker; daughter, Vivian Pittman of Kannapolis; son, Bruce Walker and wife, Pat, of Mooresville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
