Odis Samuel Mabe's Obituary
Mr. Odis Samuel Mabe, 90, of Landis passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Donnie Wise will officiate. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Mabe was born January 11, 1923 in Forsyth County. He was a son of the late Harden Winston Mabe and Mattie Duncan Mabe and was the last of their 12 children. He served in the American Theater in Northern France as part of the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Leesona Machine Corporation. Afterwards he worked for Linn Mill, the hardware department in the Salisbury Wal-Mart and was in hotel management for 23 years. He was also a former member of the Landis Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Mabe is survived by his wife, Betty McConnell Mabe of Landis; three daughters, Mariann Mabe Moose and Debbie Mabe Goble both of Landis and Robin Avery of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Tamara Moose, April Holderfield, Chad Goble, Tasha Bowles, and Casey Bowles; and seven great grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
