Orley Frank Mattison's Obituary
Mr. Orley Frank Mattison, 85, of 210 Dalewood Avenue, Kannapolis, died Monday, March 5, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Don Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence.
Born May 6, 1921, in Franklin, New York, he was the son of the late Harry L. Mattison and Mabel M. Sanford Mattison. He graduated from Otego High School in Otego, NY and was a retired quality control inspector. He had lived in this area since 1987 and was a member of Shadybrook Baptist Church. Mr. Mattison was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was active in senior bowling leagues and games.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Boyd Mattison, who died April 9, 2006.
Survivors include two sons, Everett Mattison and wife, Delores, with whom he made his home, Ernest Mattison and wife, Sylvia, of Roanoke, VA; a sister, Evelyn Daushey of Burlington Flats, NY; four grandchildren, Cathy Boehm, Wendy Parker, Tammy Sterling and Brenda Chamberlan; and eight great-grandchildren.
