Paul Davis Hooks' Obituary
Mr. Paul Davis Hooks, 77, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Midway United Methodist Church in Kannapolis. Rev. Burt Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm, Monday, August 27, 2012 at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Pam Hooks, 1421 Moorecrest Place, Kannapolis, NC.
Mr. Hooks was born on June 10, 1935 in Mecklenburg, County. He was the son of the late Arthur Carl Hooks and Margaret Louise Hooper Hooks. He retired from the NCDOT after twenty-eight years as a supervisor for a road crew. Mr. Hooks served in US Navy. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church since 1962, a member of the Kannapolis Moose Lodge and umpired High School baseball for over thirty years. He took great joy in umpiring games for his grandsons and also helped with Dixie Youth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Blanton Hooks in October 22, 1988.
Mr. Hooks is survived by his son, Russell "Rusty" D. Hooks; grandsons, Chandler Davis Hooks and Mason Christian Hooks and many nieces and nephews.
