Paul Curtis Warburton's Obituary
Mr. Paul Curtis Warburton, of Concord, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 12, 2002, at NorthEast Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, August 16, 2002, at First Assembly Worship Center. Pastors Sam Farina, Tom Whidden and Fenton Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Thursday at First Assembly Worship Center. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born July 7, 1934, in Pocahontas, Virginia, he was a son of the late Charles Warburton and the late Sarah Janet Warburton. Mr. Warburton was retired from Interstate Milling. He was a textile manager in many companies throughout the Southeast for many years. He was a faithful member of First Assembly Worship Center where he volunteered with the Senior Citizens Group and was a faithful warrior on the Watchman Prayer Wall. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Germany from 1955 to 1958.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Felecia Blair Bushey, Nina Brooke Bushey and Nana Blair Bushey; two sisters, Louise Bayes and Charlotte Harrison; four brothers, Raymond Warburton, Donald Warburton, Clifford Warburton and Ronald Warburton; and his father-in-law, Otis Reed. He was a devoted husband of 41 years, a loving father, grandfather and brother. He loved gardening, sharing God's love to his friends and family, and especially loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Reed Warburton; a daughter, Autumne Warburton-Bushey of Concord; a son, Michael S. Warburton of New Haven, Connecticut; five brothers, James D. Warburton of Bluewell, WV, Roy Leon Warburton of Elkton, MD, Bobby Ray Warburton of Pocahontas, VA, Allen Warburton of Bluefield, VA, James Kelly of Shady Springs, WV; three grandchildren, Anthony Bryce Bushey, Cadje Curtis Bushey, Bailey Reed Bushey; mother-in-law, Mildred Reed of Peterstown, WV; son-in-law, Robert Bushey of Mt. Pleasant; sister and brother-in-law, Merlin and Carol Snider of Peterstown, WV; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
