Permelia Fortson Brooks' Obituary
Mrs. Permelia Fortson Brooks, 84, of 7990 Hagers Ferry Road, Davidson, died Thursday, October 5, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Willis Fortson will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born June 7, 1922, in Franklin County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel M. Fortson and Clara Bonds Fortson. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Henry Brooks, Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Charlie W. "Johnny" Brooks and wife, Rhonda, of Denver, and Clyde H. Brooks of Kannapolis; a sister, Madge Wigley of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Christopher Brooks and wife, Andrea, Stephanie Brooks and Jennifer Noblett, all of Georgia, Janet Smith and husband Scott of Kannapolis; and six great-grandchildren, Kyle, Becky, Elizabeth, Chase, Alexis and Ashanna.
