Prangle Brown's Obituary
Mr. Prangle Brown, 85, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Novant Regional Health Center in Salisbury.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at First Freewill Baptist Church in China Grove. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Rev. Mark Murphy will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends at Lady’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis from 6 to 8 pm Monday.
Mr. Brown was born on February 23, 1930 in Madison County, GA. He was a son of the late Johnny Brown and Lettie Phillips Brown. He worked for Grove Supply Co. as a carpenter and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He greatly enjoyed farming. Mostly, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude “Trudy” Link Brown, two sisters, Ilene Lambert and Gladys Brown, and three brothers, Robert, Johnny, and Hugh Edward Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by three daughters, Jennifer B. Hare and husband, Frankie, of Troy, Trina B. Crawford and Joel Threatt, and Cathy B. Hodge and husband, Jeff, of Salisbury; a sister, Mary Ann Wilkes and husband, Tyron, of Enochville; and a brother, Bob Brown of Kannapolis. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Chase Chad, Ashlyn, Jeremy, Amber, Jessica, Jordan, Tristan, and McKenzie, and eight great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their special thanks to the Rev. Mark Murphy and the members of his church, also to the staff at NC Veteran’s Home in Salisbury for the love and care which he received.
