Ray Herman Marlow's Obituary
Mr. Ray Herman Marlow, 80, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024, at his home in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Carl Richard Fosdick will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Ray was born December 4, 1943 in Athens, GA. He was a son of the late Verdell Herman Marlow and Ruby Estel Metcalf Marlow. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to being disabled, he worked as a handyman doing jobs such as bathroom repairs and remodels and general carpentry work. He also bought and sold antiques mostly wood heaters and wood stoves. He formerly attended Central Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Cook and Margaret Mosley; and a brother, Jack Marlow.
Ray is survived by his wife, Jeanette Bumgarner Marlow; two sons, Bill Marlow and wife Laura of Asheville and Casey Marlow and wife Jennifer of Kannapolis; sister, Brenda Marlow of Athens, GA; three brothers, Bob Marlow of Kannapolis, Eddie Marlow of Maysville, GA and Tony Marlow of Athens, GA; one grandson, Tristan Marlow; five step-grandchildren, Katie Barrier, Shelby Donaldson, Bailey Bost, Reagan Bost and Katie Reams and husband Richard; and a step great grandson, Bennett Reams.
