Ray Junior Rodgers' Obituary
Mr. Ray Junior "R.J." Rodgers, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Morningside Assisted Living in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Friday, January 4, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Dr. Jarrod Lanning and Rev. David Franks will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Rodgers was born December 6, 1932 in Rowan County. He was a son of the late Hugh Victor Rodgers and Rachell Irene Honbarger Rodgers. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He retired from the Rowan County Sheriff's Office after 43 years.
Mr. Rodgers is survived by his wife, Daisy Weaver Rodgers; daughter, Lynn Furr of China Grove; son, David R. Rodgers of China Grove; grandson, Rodney Alan Furr of Landis; great-grandson, Curtis Alan Furr; two brothers, Edward Brown Rodgers of China Grove and Arthur Banks Rodgers and wife Bessie of Landis; and a very special person to the family, Joyce Story of Roanoke, VA.
