Ray Eugene Russell's Obituary
Mr. Ray Eugene Russell, Jr., 70, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 21, 2013, at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Rev. Larry Morgan, Jr. and Rev. Dale Jenkins will officiate.
Mr. Russell was born on February 23, 1943 in Baltimore, MD. He was a son of the late Ray Eugene Russell, Sr. and Frances Hathcock Russell. He was a heavy equipment operator retiring from Propst Brothers Distributors. After retirement, Ray worked for Cannon Pharmacy delivering medicine.
Mr. Russell is survived by two daughters, Carla Henson of Kannapolis and Kim Upright; sister, Ginger Russell of Kannapolis; close friend, Melinda Morgan of Kannapolis; and four grandsons, Taylor Aldridge, Justin Russell, Chris Russell and Cole Henson.
The family would like to say a special thank you for the excellent and compassionate care given to Ray by Dr. Richard Williams, Dr. David Christopherson and the staff of the Batte Cancer Center at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. They would also like to thank Ray’s close friend Melinda Morgan for the care that she provided to him during his illness.
