Rev. Marler Clay Starnes, 71, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 22, 2014, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. George Morris and Rev. Read Obituary
There is a large hole now in the Starnes family. Marler was greatly loved by everyone that knew him. I loved him like he was my brother. He was always a Christian man but he was very witty and so much fun too. We will miss him so much but I know he is in Heaven and is at peace now. Barbara, I love you and you are in my prayers and in my heart.
Hurting for all of you for his earthly absence but I know your hearts rejoice at where he is right this minute and you know he is well and happy. We know the power of the Holy Spirit and that will sustain you and hold you up, even when you feel weak and memories flood your heart. We feel blessed to know Marler and what a friend in Christ he was to all. I remember the service when he gave his heart to the Lord and what a time of jubilation that was then, as it is now in heaven. My mom loved you both and she loved to hear Marler sing "That Old Ship of Zion". May God hold you close.
Barbara,Mark,Sherry,Justin and Matthew...We are so very sorry to hear of the passing of Marler. I myself know the way you are hurting and i know he's at our eternal home, well and HAPPY. When our time comes, and it will, our loved ones will be there to greet us! It's true you will dearly miss him, just cherish the memories. We love you all and May God Bless You~
Barbara we are lifting you and your family praying that God is sending you the comfort that you need to get through this hard time in your life. We are praying that God will renew your energy and spirit. I am so proud of the life that Marler shared with you. It takes a special woman to be the helpmate to a pastor. We love you and have prayed for him through this fight that he just finished. I know that he is wrapped in Jesus' arms. What a joy is awaiting all of us who are children of God.
