Richard Talmadge Andrews' Obituary
Mr. Richard Talmadge Andrews, Sr., 92, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at his home in China Grove.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday, May 13, 2024, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Randy Fleming will officiate. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Richard was born July 8, 1931 in Stanly County. He was a son of the late Claude Andrews and Cora Spivey Andrews Price. He was a member of Rodgers Park Baptist Church in Kannapolis. He retired from Nehi Bottling Company in Salisbury and then worked for Sun Drop Bottling Company in Concord as a Production Manager.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gazelle Carpenter Andrews; three sisters, Betty Isenhour, Doris Lambert and Sis Furr; and two brothers, Gerald Andrews and Harvey Andrews.
Richard is survived by his wife, Benita Torrence McDonald; daughter, Diana Ritchie of China Grove; son, Richard Andrews, Jr. and wife Marsha of Gulf Shores, AL; step-daughter, Wendy Roop of Kannapolis; step-son, Mickey Roop of Concord; granddaughter, Laine Andrews; four step-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Gary, Trenton and Sierra; and one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Andrews.
