Richard Wayne Gillon's Obituary
Richard Wayne Gillon, 81, of Washington Lane, SE, Concord, died Friday, October 31, 2008, at his home.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Richard Rhoades will officiate.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Born July 15, 1927 in Cabarrus County, Richard was the son of the late Luther Gillon, Sr. and Mary Kimball Gillon. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. A graduate of N.C. State, he formerly worked as a plant manager at Cannon Mills and Wiscassett Mills. He was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church in Kannapolis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Blackburn Gillon.
Survivors include two daughters, Lara Gillon Gray and husband, Robert Newton Gray, and Jill Gillon Herrin and husband, Van Dale Herrin, all of Concord; and a special friend, Libby Hunsuck of Kannapolis.
