Robert William Clay, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Robert William Clay, Sr., 76, of 210 Brook Street, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, June 22, 2010, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Griffin will officiate. Interment with military funeral honors will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at the National Cemetery in Salisbury.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:30 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Clay was born November 25, 1933 in Marlboro County, SC. He was a son of the late Floyd Monroe Clay and Ruby Rebecca Joyner Clay. He was formerly employed by Cabarrus Bank & Trust Company for over 25 years. He was currently employed by Cabarrus County School System as a bus driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Korea.
Mr. Clay is survived by his wife, Frances Price Clay; two sons, Robert Clay of Grandbury, TX and Trent Clay and wife, Amy of Charlotte; brother, Ralph Clay of Bryson City; sister, Helen Swiney of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Crystal Clay Ivey and husband, John and Eric Clay; and one great granddaughter, Hannah Leigh Ivey.
