Robert Brice Overcash's Obituary
Mr. Robert Brice Overcash, 82, of 4255 Hilton Lake Road, Kannapolis, died Monday, December 13, 2004, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Karen Kaser-Odor and the Rev. R. J. Hammond will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born March 1, 1922, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Clyde Overcash and Lula Deal Overcash Hooks. He worked for many years as a carpenter and brick mason with Kluttz Brothers Construction Company in Concord. He later was employed with Fieldcrest Cannon Mills. He was a member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel H. Overcash, who died February 3, 1987 and a brother, Royal Hal Overcash, who died October 11, 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Beam Glascola Overcash; three daughters, Shirley Overcash Wensil and Kathy Overcash Greene, both of Kannapolis, and Bertie Walters of Newport News, VA; a son, Jimmy Brice Overcash of Kannapolis; five step-children; five sisters, Katherine Sechler of Landis, Ruth Troutman of Kannapolis, Helen Broadway, Jettie Connell and Thelma Milstead, all of Rockwell; a brother, Harry B. Overcash of Kannapolis; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren.
