Rodney Clea Huffman's Obituary
Mr. Rodney Clea Huffman, 69, took his last breath here on Earth and his first breath in eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 3:24 pm at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, surrounded by family.
A memorial service is scheduled for 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Landis Baptist Church. Rev. Richie Honeycutt will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:45 pm Wednesday at the Fellowship Hall at Landis Baptist Church prior to the service.
Mr. Huffman was born April 30, 1949 in Iredell County. He was a son of the late Melvin "Jim" Hamilton Huffman and Dorothy "Dot" Eugenia Shumake Huffman Childers. He was a member of Landis Baptist Church. Rodney was a supervisor at Burlington Mills in Mooresville before he went on to own his service station in Kannapolis, "Rodney's Exxon". He later went on to become a manager at the Kannapolis NAPA Auto Parts Store. He was well known by many and never met a stranger, no matter where he went.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Huffman; and brother, Dennis Huffman.
He leaves behind many loving family members to cherish his memory including his wife of 48 years, Darlene Barbee Huffman; son, Dr. Jonathan Huffman and wife Jennifer; daughter, Kelly Huffman Winslow and husband James; three beloved grandsons, Nathaniel James Winslow and wife Lauren, Eli and AJ Huffman; granddaughter, Caroline Winslow Fowler and husband Jamie; two cherished great-grandchildren, Thea Lenore Winslow and Griffin Thomas Winslow; brother, David Huffman and wife Pat; and a large, loving extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Landis Baptist Church, 110 North Kimmons Street, Landis, NC, 28088.
