Roger Duane Childers' Obituary
Roger Duane Childers, 50, of 306 West 9th Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born June 24, 1955, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Ed J. Childers, Jr. and Betty Jean Honeycutt Childers. He was a 1972 graduate of A. L. Brown High School and served in Germany with the US Army. He was employed as a boiler technician and maintenance engineer at NorthEast Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene M. Childers; two sons, Mark Childers and wife, Keely, and Paul R. Childers, both of Kannapolis; two sisters, June C. Williams and husband, Richard, of Lansing, and Rebecca C. Morton and husband, James, of Midland; a brother, Michael A. Childers of Lansing; four grandchildren, Alleyah Childers, Haylee Childers, Raven Childers and Paul Childers, Jr.; mother-in-law, Helen Melton of Kannapolis; sister-in-law, Rita Thomason; two brothers-in-law, Michael Melton and Dale Melton; three nieces, Mary Moon, Linda Church and Sarah Williams; and four nephews, Bruce Thomason, Tony Williams, Jesse Morton and Jayson Melton.
