Roger Kelly Teal's Obituary
Mr. Roger Kelly Teal, 84, of Birch Street, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3:30 pm Sunday, June 12, 2011, at West Point Baptist Church. Rev. Blair Bridle will officiate. Interment will follow at Kannapolis Cemetery in Kannapolis with military graveside rights.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:15 pm Sunday at West Point Baptist Church.
Mr. Teal was born May 29, 1927 in Chesterfield County, SC. He was the last of seven children of the late Pleasant Lee Teal and Sarah Katherine "Bessie" White Teal. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was a veteran of the US Army. He worked for Cannon Mills as a dolpher and also worked for Terry Products. Mr. Teal was best known for his lawn mower repair. He was a member of West Point Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Burr Teal; two daughters, Kelly Teal Moss and Susan Gail Teal; son, Randy Thomas Teal; four sisters, Marie Teal Previtte, Hester Teal Bass, Ruby Teal Donahue and Myrtle Teal Carringer and two brothers, Ernest Teal and Thomas "Tom" Teal.
Mr. Teal is survived by daughter, Sarah Katherine Teal Marsh of Concord and son-in-law, Donald Heath Marsh; three granddaughters, Melanie Marsh Rodgers, Melissa Marsh Harmston and Sarah Katherine "Katie" Moss; two grandsons, Christopher Scott Hamm and Michael Kelly Hamm; two great grandsons, Ethan Graham Ward and Christian Andrew Owen Harmston; sister-in-law, Ina Teal of Monroe; brother-in-law, Archie Bass of Archdale and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests that memorials be made to West Point Baptist Church, 1100 Pine Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
