Roy Thomas Sherrill, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Roy Thomas Sherrill, Sr., 76, of 902 Louise Avenue, Kannapolis, died unexpectedly Monday, October 25, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Interment will be later at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Born March 12, 1928 in Kannapolis, he was a son of the late Thomas Houston Sherrill and Anna Nichols Sherrill. He was a retired employee of Cannon Mills and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include a son, Roy Thomas Sherill, Jr. of Pelion, SC; two brothers, Ralph Sherrill of Vero Beach, FL and Edward Sherrill of Cicero, NY; two grandchildren, Melinda Cochran of Douglasville, GA and Anna Lawson of Columbia, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Ian Cochran, Travis Cochran and Patrick Cochran, all of Douglasville, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Ronald McDonald House, 419 S. Hawthorne Road, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
