Ruby Lee Cranford's Obituary
Mrs. Ruby Lee Burgess "Lady" Cranford, 79, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016, at her residence.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joe Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cranford was born December 28, 1936 in Stanly County. She was a daughter of the late Ephraim Burgess and LuCreta Burris Burgess. She owned and operated Cranford Plumbing, and also owned Creative Ceramics. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Cranford enjoyed taking care of her plants and flowers. She also enjoyed bird watching.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years Jack G. Cranford; and one sister, Marlene McClure.
Mrs. Cranford is survived by two daughters, Cathy Cranford and Jackie Troutman and husband Kenneth; son, David Cranford and wife Kim; two brothers, Jerry Burgess and Mack Burgess, all of Concord; two sisters, Lorene Edwards of Mooresville and Betty Ledbetter of Locust; one granddaughter, Miranda Cranford; special caregiver, Betty Desimone; and special fur babies, Doodlebug, Penny, Beau, Lucy and Mr. Newman.
The family wants to send a special thank you to Tina Allman, Amanda Smith, Myra Payne, Sarah Cook and Megan Childers for the special care given to Ruby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County, 2010 Wilshire Court SW, Concord, NC 28025 or to the CVAN, P.O. Box 1749, Concord NC 28026.
