Ruth Bumgarner Ferguson's Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Bumgarner Ferguson, 93, of 531 Bostian Avenue, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at CMC-NorthEast.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ferguson will be conducted in Lady's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. The Rev. Erin Yow and Rev. Sarah Weaver will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Ruth retired from Cannon Mills washcloth and cutting department in 1981 after 45 year of employment. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, she was active in the St. James Sunday school class the United Methodist Women and the Mary Bullock Circle.
Mrs. Ferguson was born in Taylorsville, NC on June 26, 1915, a daughter of the late, C.C. Barnes and Texie Alice Bumgarner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. "Pug" Ferguson in June 1988 and a grandson, Jeffery Szymanski.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Ferguson of Kannapolis, Stan Ferguson and wife Melanie of Salisbury, two daughters, Bobbie Jo Szymanski and husband Arthur of Ft. Mill, SC and Carol Albright of Thomasville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Mark Albright and wife Susan, Mike Albright, Russell Szymanski, Whitney Ferguson and Lauren Ferguson, six great grandchildren, Matthew, Kyle and Josh Albright and Jeffery, Barbara and Joseph Szymanski.
