Ruth Ailleen Hatley's Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Ailleen Drye Hatley, 71, of Rockwell, died Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Ray Coates and Mr. Tommy Poarch will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born January 21, 1932, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Wilburt Horner Dry and Elizabeth Frances Childers Drye. Mrs. Hatley was a homemaker and was formerly employed with Cannon Mills. She graduated from Hartsell High School and was a member of Concord Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Lee "Ben" Hatley; two daughters, Karen Hatley Fournier and her husband, Bobby, of Mt. Pleasant and Becky Hatley Troutman of the home; two sons, Charles "Matt" Hatley and his wife, Mary, of Rockwell and Mark Anthony Hatley of Salisbury; three sisters, Willie Brown of Homestead, Florida, Margaret Baker of Baltimore, Maryland and Helen Hatley of Concord; eight grandchildren, Amanda Carrick, Sara Fournier, Adam Troutman, Jason Hatley, Ben Hatley, Cassie Hatley, Cody Hopkins and Katie Hopkins; two great-grandchildren, Rylee Carrick and Chelby Carrick; an aunt, Mary Allen of Concord; a goddaughter, Robin Tarlton Hopkins and her husband, Sam, of Concord; and numerous brothers, sisters and friends from the Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Concord Church of Christ, 4595 Poplar Tent Road, Concord, NC 28027 or the charity of one's choice.
