Mrs. Ruth Frances Mullis James, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 17, 2015
A funeral service is scheduled for 7:00 pm Monday, April 20, 2015, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Newton and Rev. Gene Beaver will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. James was born August 4, 1922 in Rowan County. She was the daughter of the late Marshall Mullis and Minnie Troutman Mullis. She retired from W.G. “Bill” Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury after many years of service as a certified nursing assistant. After her retirement, she worked as a private duty nurse. She was a Charter member of Christian Fellowship church where she served on various boards and was active for many years in all church operations and activities.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert S. James; five sisters; and three brothers.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her three sons, Wayne James and wife Terry of Kannapolis and Rupert “Buddy” James of Kannapolis and Michael James of Salisbury; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
