Ruth Carter Overcash's Obituary
Ruth Carter Overcash, 84, of Laurels of Salisbury and formerly of Kannapolis died Friday, August 1, 2008 after 1 year of declining health.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 4, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Locklear and Rev. Joe Rahme officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Overcash was born August 6, 1923 in Wilkes County, NC, She was a daughter of the later Martin and Laura Osborne Adams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Carter; a son, Larry Carter and daughter, Ann Love Billings.
Her life was spent being a homemaker and raising her family. She was a member of Mt. Zion First Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Ross and husband, Bobby Ross. Six grandchildren, Tami Archie and husband, Tim Archie of China Grove; Lisa Simpson, and husband Roger Simpson of Monroe; Julie Tucker and husband, Geoff Tucker of Harrisburg; Michael Love of Kannapolis; Cindy Simmons and husband, Eric Simmons of Kannapolis and Kathy Carter of Concord. Also surviving are eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
