Sallie Malinda Bragg's Obituary
Sallie Malinda Fortson Bragg, 93, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast in Concord.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Tom Cabaniss, Mr. Wade Craven, and Rev. Herman Absher will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service.
Mrs. Bragg was born September 5, 1920 in Madison County, GA. She was a daughter of the late John L. Fortson and Sallie McConnell Fortson of Danielsville, GA. She retired from Cannon Mills in 1983 after thirty nine years in the wash cloth department. She was a member of Jackson Park Baptist Church where she was a choir member for 40 years, a Sunday School Teacher, and an active member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe D. Bragg; and thirteen siblings.
Mrs. Bragg is survived by her two daughters, Madeline Bragg Misenheimer of Kannapolis and Clarice Bragg Whitaker of Lompoc, CA; three grandchildren, Derrick Misenheimer and wife, Sherri, Mitzi M. Archambo and husband, Neil and Eric Todd Whitaker and wife, Patty; eight great-grandchildren, Megan Misenheimer, Nathan Misenheimer, Dylan Misenheimer, Kristan Misenheimer, Bailey Malone, Riley Malone, Daniel Archambo, Rachel Archambo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
