Samuel (sam) E. Shaver's Obituary
Samuel "Sam" Everette Shaver, 82, of 6600 Miller Road, Kannapolis, died Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Hospice House.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chuck Halipilias will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home.
Born May 28, 1926 in Rowan County, Mr. Shaver was the son of the late John Linker Shaver and Arline Wise Shaver. He formerly owned and operated Sam's Food Center in Kannapolis. Sam was a member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Frances Shaver; and a son, Randy E. Shaver.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Carla Furr and husband Chris of Kannapolis; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Furr and Madysen Furr; three sisters, Margaret Thompson and Doris Platon, both of Kannapolis, Helen Sides of Norfolk, VA; and three brothers, Gene Shaver, John Shaver and Earl Shaver, all of Kannapolis.
Memorials may be sent to Jackson Park United Methodist Church, 715 Mable Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
